Ms. Cullen, Gracie Gail
is the founder and director of SHE, Starry Heart Earth, which brings people together through creative therapy and expressive outlets in way that enhance personal and community conscious growth and development, helping people re-discover and share their own stories in a state of Acceptance, Trust, Love and Community. Gracie Gail is the host of ”The Gracie Gail Show” on the SHE website. Gracie Gail has implemented humor in her work, hence, spiritual comedian and is skilled as a spiritual guide and intuitive counselor.
Ms. Cullen is a Drug and Alcohol Counselor who interned in California and New Mexico and was recently licensed in New Mexico. Ms. Cullen started her training and work in the drug and alcohol treatment and intervention field in 1991 at the Griffin & Wong Institute for Education & Training in San Diego CA.
Ms. Cullen was the director of Dancing Star Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Dancing Star is a place of serenity and gathering for people who were recovering from or effected by the challenges of drugs, alcohol or cancer. Dancing Star provided animal therapy and creative arts. There was a sweat lodge, tee pee, and vision quests were done. The land was blessed by a Medicine Man from South Dakota Pine Ridge Reservation.
Ms.Cullen was a Family Intervention Specialist for Santa Fe Catholic Charities. Services were provided under a grant from the Children Youth and Family Department (CYFD.) Ms. Cullen received specialized training with the Multicultural Family Centered Research and Training Project, New Mexico State University School of Social Work. Protective Services, CYFD, self-referral, schools, hospitals and community providers could make referrals. The purpose of the Family Support Services Program was to strengthen and preserve families with children from birth to 12 years of age. Ms Cullen developed each family’s skills while building on their strengths. She went into the family’s home and into the community.
Ms. Cullen worked as an intern and then licensed counselor at Recovery of Alcoholics Program, Inc. in Santa Fe conducting assessments, administering the SASSI, developing treatment plans, and coordinating with probation officers and judges regarding the compliance of clients. She taught classes five nights a week on the medical aspects of alcoholism, codependency, and anger management and life skills. Gail did both inpatient and outpatient therapy. She also implemented Pet Assisted Therapy.
Ms. Cullen is trained as a Volunteer Crisis Phone Counselor, and received her training through the Crisis Response of Santa Fe’s Presbyterian Medical Services. Ms. Cullen worked a 24-hour crisis hotline for all ages and all types of crisis throughout Santa Fe County. Gail provided services that included short-term crisis-intervention, responses to requests for information, referrals and counseling.
Ms. Cullen is a certified Grief Counselor and worked in that role at Gerard’s House, Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she worked with children, teens and adults as a facilitator in support groups, one on one support, supervised play and art, story telling and rituals. The goal of Gerard’s House is to end the cycles of self-destructive behavior that are associated with unresolved grief. Ms. Cullen was trained in the philosophy of Gerard’s House, which was based from The Dougy Center, The National Center for Grieving Children and Families.
